The name under which Italian Piasentina stone has always been marketed derives from the local Friuli Region dialect, in which “La Piase” means “It Pleases”. Customers in the nearby city of Udine liked both the physical qualities and the look of this stone, so it became known as Piasentina – attractive and popular. The name survives to this day, recalling the affection its vendors and users felt for this very special stone.
Today ITA-I.TILES celebrates this unique Italian story by creating “La Piase”, a modern 60×120 porcelain stoneware reinterpretation, which, thanks to latest-generation digital technology, accurately reproduces all the stone’s veins and stippling not only in the original shade but also in fresh colours that do not occur in nature.
